Jesus - His Divinity as Only the Holy Bible Can Present ItReader comment on item: Middle East Studies in Upheaval Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jul 21, 2011 at 17:17 By your response, I have to presume a number of things. But before getting into that, let it be made plain here that your opinion deserves an intelligent observation; for if nothing else, it reflects hundreds of years of scholarship by many sources, though the majority of which are intended to depict the Biblical narrative with less than it requires to be correctly observed. As to your first assertion, one of an innumerable array of works that have not understood the ulterior meaning of the Holy Scriptures, stems from a decidedly human perspective, as have all the similar opinions over the centuries have been, even to the time of Christ and before. While He was being tried by His own, His own words were spat back into His face as He told the truth; and His accusers reviled Him for it. From a faithful believing disciple of Yeshua's differing opinion, your invective that the Bible had no part of Yeshua HaMashiach and His Divinity in it is a deception; that a true believer understands that the Spirit necessary to get the Holy Bible in a form of faithfulness to the Spirit of the LORD, REQUIRES the understanding that it was written by humans under the spiritual guidance of the LORD Yeshua HaMashiach, or it cannot be the written WORD of the LORD. As for its being 'canonical,' you are correct that when humans try to decipher the Book independent of the necessary spiritual guidance, it fails to produce the faith necessary to take Yeshua at His WORD, just as it was in the time of the Islamic Prophet and before and since. This leads to your second and correct assertion, that in and of itself, the Holy Bible and the Quran are as different as day and night. The reason why is quite plain: the Islamic Prophet, not having any reliable Christian witness to explain how it is necessary to have faith in Yeshua HaMashiach, found the people around him to be shallow and unreliable sources for what true Christianity should be about. By the time the Quran was initiated, the witness of Paul was so diluted and diffused by contradictory information, it is highly unlikely that a real testimony could be found within a thousand miles of anywhere to give truth a chance. That fact that you allude to a Judaic influence of the Scripture is clouded one: it does have its Jewish basis, but it also exceeds the Judaic paradigm by the Divine witness of Yeshua HaMashiach – one only needs seek its truth to determine how. As to your inquiry of the divinity of Yeshua HaMashiach, one needs to understand the Tanach, of the writings of Moses, the Books of Wisdom and the Jewish Prophets. Failing to understand the terms of the pre-human circumstances of Yeshua leads to no conclusion of His divinity, a perfectly understandable predicament for any who have no reliance on the Holy Bible to get through life. Now I can quote a number of Old Testament passages that point to the divinity of the Holy One of Israel, of His pre-incarnate Person in a number of Biblical references, yet I believe that has been done for you before without the individual conviction that such might be considered truth. Every reference in the Tanach that relates to the Redeemer is referring to Yeshua, as is every reference to the Captain of the Host of the LORD, and the 'Anointed One.' But does this get believed? By any who believe in faith as I do, this is an imperative to understanding. Lacking that, it remains inconclusive to any not willing to believe. One of the earliest impositions upon believing whether or not the Holy Bible is the work of the LORD or not comes from that exquisitely humanist question of the idea that an Almighty Eternal Sovereign would even bother to involve Himself in the everyday passings of human life. Even further, it is a humanist concept that mankind, thinking independent of Yeshua HaMashiach, has some kind of divine spark without Him being in the individual's life. Yet, the last thing I think I would do is press the idea that I can make my life last forever in this mortal form. Not even what little I do know about the Quran lends to or provides the truth necessary to correctly view how Yeshua HaMashiach is the key to immortality as it is portrayed in the Holy Bible. In a Biblical understanding of my mortality, Yeshua has provided the truth necessary to understand my lack of an ability to live eternally except that I lead my life according to His WORD. No one outside of the truth of the Holy Bible can provide what is necessary to deal with the inconsistencies of life, of the sin nature that has been covered by the death, burial and resurrection of Yeshua HaMashiach, which could only be handled through His divinity being temporarily cloaked in His short life among humanity. Here are a couple of verses that compel faith of His divinity for a true disciple: Isaiah 9:6) "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." 7) "Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." Isaiah 44:6) "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the First (Alpha) and I am the Last (Omega); Besides Me there is no God." Isaiah 47:4) As for our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 49:7) Thus says the LORD, The Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, To Him whom man despises, To Him whom the nation abhors, To the Servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise, Princes also shall worship, Because of the LORD who is faithful, The Holy One of Israel; And He has chosen You." Isaiah 49:26-por) ……All flesh shall know That I, the LORD, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob." Isaiah 59:20) "The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob," Says the LORD. The Revelation completes the picture of His Divinity from beginning to the end. Now I could go further. But here again, it requires a Biblical understanding to realize the implications of recognizing who Yeshua HaMashiach is. It requires His divinity to impart the judgment of death for the sin of all mortal and sinful humanity; it took His taking on a temporary form of perfect humanity to redeem us through His sacrificial death and resurrection to complete that which is prophesied. The Quran can never impart that, especially when considering that Islam cannot bring itself to take Yeshua at His WORD. You have your choice to believe in a Jesus no true Christian will ever recognize; or choose to obtain the faith necessary to believe in the Jesus that the Holy Bible acknowledges being the Anointed One of Israel. If one waits to have it proven in human reasoning, it will be too late too soon to do what is necessary to obtain the eternal life only a Divine Yeshua HaMashiach can promise.
