Context-Yet AgainReader comment on item: Middle East Studies in Upheaval Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Nov 28, 2011 at 11:49 All things being equal, I have my faith, Dhimmi his beliefs, you with yours; each to his own based on what life has taught, either as had been handed down, or that which has been absorbed through the lessons of life. While I may understand the position and direction Dhimmi, and others, including you and I, are wanting to portray, it does not mean necessarily that I will give any more credence to those things except that it passes the filter of the Biblical litmus test. As said before, as I am not schooled in the finer aspects of Quranic studies, I cannot lend to the discussion of the Quran except as it is portrayed in opposition to the Hebrew Holy Bible. That being said, the Quran in Arabic has for its context the issue of presuming to be correct in its Arabic at the time it was written. However, you and other adherents of the Islamic Prophet do not accord the same for the Hebrew Holy Bible, alleging corruption and other assorted hyperbole as reason and cause for not believing the WORD of the LORD without valid sources of reference. In other words, who says to you and others in disbelief that the Hebrew Holy Bible does not properly represent itself to be what the LORD intended it to be? What we have here is an issue of corroboration, that of what source of validation do we turn to if we are to place any value on a work that eventually means life or death in eternity, an issue of intangibility unless we look transcendentally to a supernatural source of life. To your correct observation of my Christianity, not the empty religious theosophical meanderings of people who try to put words in Yeshua Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
