Ignoring Iran's Real Intentions are Proximal to the Apoplexy Shown in the Middle EastReader comment on item: Kenneth N. Waltz – The Stupidest Strategist? Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jun 26, 2012 at 14:55 The first premise that logic, or some course of reasoning or rationale that might be applicable here is, in matter of fact, missing. That is apparently material to the assumptions and derivatives of logic that seem to drive Mr. Waltz's position; for he actually appears to shift the blame from an Iranian threat to circumstances of a tiny country trying desperately to hold on to its national status in the face of an overwhelming horde that would decimate not only its national status, but of its very existence as threatened by the very power cited; to which Mr. Waltz extends the benefit of doubt. Your assertion that a nuclear armed Iran is not going to be the material cause of an end-of-world scenario demonstrates a decidedly enigmatic perception of the rhetoric proceeding out of Iran, not only in the English language media, but more especially in the Farsi versions. They have declared they are, in fact, looking every day for the signs of the twelfth imam and posturing for what they need to do to advance the arrival for the world caliphate they want established. Now, the rest of the non-Iranian Revolutionary population may not be so engaged in that process, but then only those of the Iranian Revolutionary regime seem to understand why they want nuclear power-they are not trying to measure it in kilowatts, but in kilotons. Mr. Waltz should be given some kind of Neville Chamberlain acknowledgement for his 'thesis' on the disarming notion that a nuclear armed Iran is of minimal consequence to the rest of the world, which by a perception of his article, he is of an opinion the world is evidently hell-bent on appropriating peace in the Middle East at any cost. Maybe that is what prompted the phrase; "all the apocalyptic and apoplectic hysteria…." It is not hard to agree that there are hysterics, from all sectors, all potential participants. If in one example we see the Turkish military tempting Syria by clumsy reconnaissance flyovers and the results of further provocations as any reason to expect more such antics, an all out battle cannot be far away-it is inevitable as can be seen from histories more dramatic mistakes. But remember who the real nuclear powers are out there; Iran may or may not be nuclear ready yet, but Iran has less at stake than others and they are more prone to make things 'apocalyptic.' Israel has more on their plate than whether Iran is nuclear equipped and that is where this is going in Biblical light speed, just to put this situation in more of an apocalyptic (revealing) tone on things.
