Waltz was and remains ahead of his time

Waltz predicted in the 1960s that a) The Cold War would end in a rapprochement between the US and USSR brought on, in part, by the rise of new powers (China, India, etc); b) that the US would find the post Cold War more challenging from a general security standpoint as it would be 'multipolar'; c) argued that nuclear weapons were the most valuable deterrence weapons ever invented and, thus, that their spread would make major war considerably less likely. As we know, Waltz has been proven correct on all counts. Waltz was so far ahead of his time that folks ... have a long, long way to go to catch up with his demonstrable foresight.
