Ongoing Islamic Conquest of the WestReader comment on item: Rampaging Islamists Submitted by Edward Cline (United States), Sep 19, 2012 at 09:43 Islam, even as a horrendous, collectivist, totalitarian ideology shorn of its doctrinal elements, would have remained in the Mideast but for the fact that political correctness – or the policy of moral non-judgment of collectivist ideas, of toleration of the "different" or non-Western moral systems – gave it an impetus it could never generate on its own. Western political correctness and pragmatism enable Islam to stand as an equal with the philosophy of individual rights and political liberty. On those terms, individual rights and political liberty are just "different," and not to be regarded as superior to a creed/ideology that calls for mindless slavery. Also, it's a "religion," and all religions, according to the code of toleration, must not be judged, no matter how primitive or brutal they might be. But it is specifically Islam that is imbued with the confidence of conquest, and opposing it is a tentative, timid code of pragmatism and non-judgmentalism. The true nemesis is not Islam per se, but our politicians and the news media. As another observer has pointed out, when the mobs in Cairo planted the black flag of jihad on the walls of the U.S embassy, it was a gesture of conquest, and had little or nothing to do with an amateur video that crudely mocked Mohammad and Islam. if a Muslim had interpreted a line of dialogue in a Bugs Bunny cartoon as anti-islamic or Islamophobic, that would have just as well served as a pretext to call for America's and Israel's destruction.
