Preposterous conclusion

I don't see how we could ever come to that. Dhimmi status was imposed on Christians and Jews in countries ruled by Muslims. This can never happen in Europe, much less in the US.

Dhimmi status would mean for instance than certain rights would only be enjoyed by Muslims in our countries: for instance driving cars or access to certain important jobs. I can't think of any conceivable scenario where this could happen. Imaginary fears don't help us - unless the goal is to actually impose a second-class status to Muslims in Western countries, to keep an eye on them and make sure they don't turn us into dhimmis. that was more or less the reasoning of antisemites in Europe: they feared Jewish rule so much that they started persecuting Jews and finally exterminated them.

Also, let's not forget that out of more than a billion Muslims on Earth, only a few thousands or tens of thousands demonstrated. Confusing the small extremist crowd with the whole population is a big mistake.
