Confusing the small extremist crowd with the whole population is a big mistake.

I disagree. All Muslims are a stream within which the terrorists move. They provide the background, anonymity and support systems. Even if they do it from fear of reprisals from the extremists, they are a part of it. We must name the enemy if we are to fight it. The enemy is Islam itself and every one who clings to it.
