"No One Can Trust the U.S. At This Time; Any Country, Which Trusts the U.S., Has Its Head in the Sand"Reader comment on item: The Silver Lining of Obama's Weak America Submitted by Rex (United States), Nov 12, 2013 at 23:49 Dear Jonathan, the Israeli in the Netherlands, You stated succinctly that no one can trust the U.S. at this time, and that any country doing so has its head in the sand. The problem is the U.S. is very busy with its domestic scene, which involves dismantling all social programs benefiting its citizens and erecting ones, which benefit corporations and those making billions in investments on Wall Street. This includes the drones and intelligence gathering technology, which is continually being used against American citizens. When a country is focused on its citizens as though they are the enemy, it is no surprise that its foreign policy would be dysfunctional to say the very least. In what other westernized country is medical treatment considered a speculative commodity like gold, platinum, natural gas, copper, aluminum, oil, etc.? Even though there exists a constitution and a bill of rights clearly defining the people of the U.S. as sovereign citizens rather than servants of the state, the opposite is now the case. The U.S. is now like a ruined man in that no matter what he does in an attempt to redeem himself, he can never succeed; he's ruined. President Obama has declared a war on all whistleblowers, even though the U.S. has a past history of encouraging whistleblowers to come forward as a means of oversight and accountability. Obama has done everything to eviscerate this oversight and accountability. Never mind outsiders not being able to trust the elected and appointed officials of the U.S. government, the American people cannot trust the elected and appointed officials. The main problem in the scheme of things involves the legitimization and legalization of graft bribery. In what other westernized, developed country is graft bribery not only considered legitimate and a normative event, but also legal? This phenomenon did not occur overnight. It began with the Reagan and first Bush administrations. In what other country would it be deemed unprofitable to institute a system of national security to protect its citizens and territory? The elected and appointed officials along with their handlers in the corporate business community didn't want to spend the money to protect U.S. territory, so 9/11 occurred. Well, you know the rest of the story. The conclusion is not good. Many Americans, especially those from the educated middle class, are choosing to immigrate to the countries of their grandparents. Even places like Romania are beginning to look more friendly than the U.S. at this time. Why do you think many American Jews are returning to countries like Germany, Austria, and Hungary from where their parents and grandparents fled?
