Unfinished businessReader comment on item: The JFK Assassination's Continued Importance Submitted by Rebecca Ellen Moulds (United States), Nov 22, 2013 at 11:23 Are all ideas of how and why John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated, "crazy conspiratorial ideas"? I was 8 years old when President Kennedy was assassinated. I remember clearly the announcement that my 3rd Grade teacher Miss Liebsen made that afternoon, and subsequently we were sent home from school early. When my sister and I got home, we found our mother sobbing at the front door. Both of my parents were Republicans, but they greatly admired President Kennedy. As a young child, all I knew was that our president had been killed. Then it was told to us that someone named Lee Harvey Oswald was the killer. That was "it" in a nutshell, and as a child, it was enough. However, in this present day and age, I realise that no government on this planet has been truly above board and that anything is possible. Perhaps in another fifty years, when all people who were involved witn the assassination are gone, the truth will finally be revealed. Aside from President Kennedy's personal life, I believe his very independent spirit , his fresh approach and unusual and even radical deas of governing, were what our country needed, but there were those in high places who despised him for these very attributes. After Kennedy was "out of the way", we became embroiled in a war that we shamefully lost, and we also lost our faith in our own government overall.
