Could JFK have been killed by an accidental shot from a Secret Service gun?Reader comment on item: The JFK Assassination's Continued Importance Submitted by James Guest (Australia), Nov 22, 2013 at 14:29 Daniel - as noted in a Comment on your recent post about the JFK assassination we have met - a long way from the imperial capital(s) and you may know the learned Paul Monk. I seek your opinion, as I did nt that blog post, concerning Paul's dismissive way of dealing with the plausible idea that the recent film and book (by an Australian police detective, retired) reviving an earlier idea about how JFK was killed was in fact a non-starter. Absent factual errors in the film it certainly makes sense that the Secret Service, maybe Bobby Kennedy, FBI and CIA, and counsel for the Warren Commission would think it best to settle for a single shooter theory if the reality was that the Secret Servicemen had hang overs and the man standing with the gun ready in the car behind the President's was a driver turned gun toting operative for the day whose gun, loaded with completely different ammunition from what Oswald used, accidentally discharged and sent a soft nosed fragmentation bullet into the President's head thereby causing damage quite different from what Oswald's bullets would have caused and requiring the loss of the autopsy photographs..... The third bullet case from Oswald's gun was just the initial placeholder for saftety before the gun was made ready to fire the live ammunition. All perfectly plausible. What do you think? Oswald the communist killed Kennedy and everything else is chaff to turn attention away from that brutal and irreducible fact. Reader comments (29) on this item
