public perceptionReader comment on item: Obama's Hollow Promises Abroad Submitted by myth (Germany), Feb 20, 2014 at 14:17 Mark D, I made my very own little contribution to change public perception of Asian affairs. I explained to my daughter, that her Samsung smartphone was a Korean product. South Korean that is. She did not know that. While the US invented the iPhone the US also protects South Korea from the North enabling them to make smartphones. No US - no smartphone - that easy. True, China supplies both producers. I believe that if one was to take China out of the chain there would still be smartphones. Take the US out and everybody would be in the stone age or whatever vast areas of China still look like. The facts are still on our side, only most people don't know.
