Reasons I hope the bill passes

Reader comment on item: Iran's Nuclear Buildup and American Irrelevance

Submitted by Doug Mayfield (United States), Feb 22, 2014 at 19:01

While the Menedez-Kirk bill is undoubtedly not adequate to deal properly with the threat of a nuclear Iran, I'd like to see it passed and signed into law, even over Obama's possible veto.

1) It shows the world that a significant portion of America opposes the craven socialist/nihilist in the White house and his dismal henchmen as far as dealing with Iran.

2) If Iran leaves the negotiations because the bill passes, better still. The negotiations are a pathetic sham conducted by Obama and company to give his 'We can talk to the vicious murdering Islamic tyrants who run Iran' approach to foreign policy a thin patina of legitimacy. Iran walking out puts a stop to that.

3) Because of 1), Israel may be emboldened to act. Despite the potential for strife and loss of life, I certainly hope so because someone must stop Iran and Obama, who embraces Islam, will not do so.
