As to the possibility of the Saudis going nuclear they have no program as far as I know and would be way behind Iran. They have lots of money to spend both on materials and hired experts which would speed up the process. This brings to mind a question: has any country (U.S.?) ever given nuke weapons, ready made, and the supporting odds and ends to a non-nuke ally? If that would be a world first it would be a heck of a news story and more, much more.
