You state Israel's building a fence along the Jordan and maintaining security control very much alters the nature of a future two state dynamic. But a closer reading of past Israeli statements and positions, not a US or world interpretation of its positions, shows Israel never planned on relinquishing its defending the natural barrier to invasion that is the Jordan rift valley.

The Palestinian 'state' was not envisioned as one in military control of access to its borders. Then and now that would be national security suicide.
