HistoryReader comment on item: More on Turkish Support for ISIS Submitted by Kuvayi Milliye (Turkey), Aug 10, 2014 at 04:48 Always the same, rotten arguments. 2 million Greeks, 1.5 million Armenians, centuries of systematic slaughter but somehow, they still exist today. The numbers change each time too. Why dont you just prove one of your single claims with archive documents, not with Wikipedia. Here is a slice of some real history, not Orthodox propaganda. Read and learn so that you will wake up from your charicaturized concept of history. --- One might also mention the crime of genocide committed by Greek troops against the civilian Turkish population of Aydin on 28th and 29th June 1919. When it came to genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Balkans, it was in fact the Greek army which led the way. The first example was the slaying of 32.000 unarmed Turks and Jews in Tripoli in 1821, and the ethnic cleansing of the entire Slavic speaking population of Kilkis in 1913. ( Asia Minor and The Ethnic Origins of The Refugees, The Greek Imperialist Policy of 1922 and The Asia Minor Catastrophe, Georgios Nakratzas ) --- In history it happened to the Muslims of Russian Armenia and Eastern Anatolia. 2.5 million Muslims were killed by the Armenians in the worst possible way imaginable. It is sickening to think that the human race is capable of such actions, but there is no denying the fact that the Armenian genocide of 2.5 million Muslims happened between 1914-1920. The Armenian General Dro, the butcher, was the architect of it. ( Arthur Derounian, Armenian Affairs magazine, Winter Issue, 1949-1950, Page 19, Footnote ) --- Justin McCarthy has unearthed a horrifying and extremely important fact: that in the course of the century between the Greek war of independence and World War I, the Ottoman Empire suffered 5.5 million dead and 5 million refugees. He deems this Europe's largest lost of life and emigration since the Thirty Years War. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
