At last a sensible opinion to give a true Nation a Homeland.Reader comment on item: Hello, Kurdistan Submitted by Leon (Switzerland), Sep 10, 2014 at 03:38 I am delighted to read the change of heart of Daniel Pipes whose opinion and analyses I value. Americans have little understanding of Mideast affairs. At the root of a any State, there must be considerations of what constitutes a Nation. History, Culture, Language, Religion, local Values. The Kurds are truly a Nation. They have been torn apart, harshly persecuted by their neighbours. All the while, western powers displayed callous indifference to their plight. The only politician who introduced a sensible solution, albeit partial, was Joe Biden when he suggested to split Iraq in 3 parts, Sunni, Shiya, Kurdish. Had President Bush followed this, a lot of blood and ressources would have been saved since. NOW it is high time to do the right thing. I beg Daniel Pipes to engage all the powers that be in order to achieve the proposal of his excellent article.
