"dangerous but necessary"Reader comment on item: Hello, Kurdistan Submitted by Paul Rothberg (United States), Sep 10, 2014 at 17:21 Nice essay, with a gem of a statement within. I note the phrase "dangerous but necessary" near the end this essay, as only three little words, but a huge important concept. The short term avoidance of danger may lead to the buildup of tension that does get relieved in the fullness time, but with often worse consequences than clear thinking and decisive action at an earlier time. What if the Kurds did get a state at the Treaty of Versailles? Reminds me of a recent decision in Israel's Gaza policy. Did Netanyahu avoid the dangerous but necessary decision to destroy Hamas? (Sorry for my out-of-place, but not dangerous or necessary comment.) Paul
