El SisiReader comment on item: What Egypt's President Sisi Really Thinks Submitted by Andrew (United States), Sep 16, 2014 at 19:42 Though I agree with many of D.Pipes articles, on this one I think he's got it wrong. The basis of his theory on who El Sisi is, is based on this one paper El Sisi wrote as his thesis in the US Military College. I also read this thesis some time ago. There is a great difference between what's written in that paper and the actions El Sisi has taken since then. Mr. Pipes please describe El Sisi with what he's done since becoming President of Egypt, and don't assume that this thesis encompasses his overall philosophy. You mean you haven't changed a bit since you graduated from college? I read an article where he courageously made comments about the change needed of the Egyptian society, going as far as referring to the Koran and the way many interpret it. He has made laws to protect women and Christians and he kept Egypt intact though his country was almost destroyed by the fanaticism of the Muslim Brotherhood. He wants to rid the area to his left (Libya) and to his right (Hamas) from militant Islam, he understands the Turkish ambitions of Erdogan. He has been in a few words a pillar of stability in an area so fluid it makes oil seem a solid mass. Give the man a break.
