You are correct. However acquiring Egyptian citizenship is very difficult even for those born in Egypt to non Egyptian mothers

This means that a Sudanese or a Syrian migrant regardless of the reason for being in Egypt he/she will be regarded as Sudanese or Syrian and not Egyptian
