Grave concerns for the Cultural future of the United States of America and for the American English Language

Dear Daniel

I am with you when you write: "But I take a darker view. As multiculturalism takes hold, I wonder if classic American culture, with its stress on individualism and freedom will survive."

I moved from Spain to the U.S.A. in 1966 after receiving a Fulbright scholarship to study at Brown University. My intention was to shed Spain and take on an American persona because I PRECISELY wanted to embrace the values you mention above. Moreover, in 1991, I converted from Catholicism to Evangelical Christianity, completing the cycle.

All my life I have loved America, even before I moved to the U.S.A. Current trends are a cause for grief and great distress. Worse yet, the institutions that have defended the Judeo-Christian, Anglo-Saxon values I cherish are breaking apart morally and ethically.
