Even Singapore Is Repressive

Very illuminating article on the SA doctor. It paints the picture of an orderly, repressive state, located somewhere between the primitive and the modern, centered a bit more towards the former. It sounds similar to Singapore, which one may think of as an economically free and prosperous police state, quite backward beneath the shiny veneer. But - Hey! - that's not bad for the neighborhood, is it?
