Jewish Ethics Too Nice To Do The TrickReader comment on item: Breaking the Palestinians' Will to Fight Submitted by Dave (United States), Apr 10, 2017 at 19:49 Recently, Israel's transportation minister, Yisrael Katz, proposed that an island-port with a possible airport be built for the Gazans, the five billion dollar project to be funded by the Saudis and others. The intent is to help the Gaza economy, further detach Israel from Gaza, and advance peace. One could perhaps see this as Israel applying the Golden Rule to the Palestinians, hoping that they would reciprocate. But remember what happened when all of those greenhouses were fixed up and turned over when the Israelis unilaterally withdrew from Gaza: They were used as rocket launching sites against Israel. And what about the Gaza mother whose own daughter was successfully treated gratis by Israeli doctors for heart disease, but who still said that Israelis should be killed by suicide martyrs? That's consistent with Hamas head, Ismail Haniyeh, who has had close relatives treated in Israel, yet still didn't order an end to rocket attacks on Israel. Given the above Muslim responses to Jewish kindness, it would certainly behoove Israel to consider the many ways that island-port-cum-airport could be weaponized before it's built. I seriously doubt that Israel has the wherewithal to overcome their own ethical nature in order to overcome a very different and far more ruthless mindset in order to decisively discourage its religiously inspired aggression. But there are plenty of Israelis by now, with more over time, who are coming to realize that the Golden Rule does not work with Palestinians. Reader comments (27) on this item
