moderate imperialists?Reader comment on item: Merkel's Historic Folly Submitted by rw (United States), Aug 29, 2017 at 21:10 How is it possible to say that Islam is imperialist AND that there is an element of 'moderate' Islam that can reform Islam itself? (Surely to say that islam is imperialist it to speak of the essence of this belief system.) 'Moderate' muslims are muslims who are not following the precepts of Mohammed. An important element of much of Islam is to keep its followers quiet by only allowing them an air-brushed version of this unfortunate man. (See Seeking Allah, finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi). The paranoid structures that fill the islamic space (see Wafa Sultan/Nonie Darwish) mean that 'moderates' are still cowed into submission. Islam does not need reform - it needs be dismantled by refutation. Islam itself is imperialist. A moderate imperialist - is an imperialist.
