More Israels Would HelpReader comment on item: Why Palestinian Delusions Persist Submitted by Dave (United States), Nov 14, 2017 at 09:58 There was recently a bit of panic over the Kurdish referendum as some Arab leaders accused Kurdistan of being another Israel, although the Kurds are Muslims but not Arabs. What would be much more convincing would be for more non-Muslims who were long ago conquered and obliterated by Islam to come back and reclaim their previous dominions. For example, the Christians could help the Maronites kick Hezbollah out of Lebanon, or the Buddhists or Hindus could retake Afghanistan. In a sense, the French in Algeria were only reestablishing Byzantium's pre-Islamic hegemony, and their invasion was deservedly provoked by Muslim piracy. Alas, in today's world colonialism is frowned upon and the Christians are too civilized, or wimpy, to be aggressive; the French long ago gave up on Algeria. Islam arose by conquest, but until more than just the Jews are willing to retake territory from the Muslims, their delusions of grandeur will probably persist.
