The 4th option is neither mentioned nor consideredReader comment on item: Dhimmis No More Submitted by Prashant (India), Dec 25, 2017 at 03:23 Dear Dr Pipes, your reader G Marcus is mostly true in his message entitled 'Entire conflict explained in less than 20 lines'. Mr Marcus described that the world has three options when dealing with Islam: 1. Defeat them militarily now 2. Enter in a truck with them but get defeated by them eventually and 3. Surrender to them. Every interaction between Muslims and non-muslims throughout history has fitted one of these three patters and it is difficult to find an exception. However, the only remedy that is likely to work against the religio-political aggression of Islam was not only not suggested by Mr Marcus but also it is ignored by most people most of the time: we need to tell them firmly, politely and repeatedly that Islamic doctrines are neither correct nor final. Let me cite a few examples: -- there is nothing virtuous in Muslims loving democracy in all non-muslims countries but Islam categorically contradicting democratic values. -- there is no virtue in the Islamic laws with respect to men and women which are openly claimed to be different but equal for the two sexes. -- there is no virtue in the Islamic laws related to marriage between Muslims and non-muslims. These laws are anti-women, appear to be selfish and seem to be designed to serve the purpose of growth of Islam. -- monotheism is certainly a good spiritual discovery but there is no virtue in merciless and stubborn monotheism practiced in Islam. As we advance religious ideas, we ought not forget our humanity. These will make a good start but there are many more items in this list.
