Since you recognize that IS is a monstrous group so you must consider that creating, nurturing , abetting is a very bad thing.

Any geopolitical interest should not be served by supporting such a group in any way.

The IS has definitely been empowered by support (direct or indirect) way from Washington and Jerusalem otherwise a group like that will not be able to use advanced drones in the weekend as it did against the Russian airbases in Syria.

I believe that Dr. Pipes should have condemned that instead of supporting the Sunni rebel groups against Iran and Russia in Syria.
