Violent Confrontations with Islamically Driven Contenders for Peace a Given

History is layered with the ruins of civilized societies that sought to live peacefully, yet peace was deprived by an artificial ideology that built an empire like society that preyed upon unsuspecting societies for the sake of countering a social revolution of a differing kind: the first century message of an itinerant Jewish Teacher that proved redemption from the natural man to righteousness was found in belief that He was the Savior of the world. This Messianic message was the life-spring of the hope that was being spread in much, if not all, of the Middle East that many associate as being conquered by a revived (not original Quranic followers) pursuit of Islam. One need only look at the recent resurgence in Afghanistan that they do not seek peace; but overthrow of any contentions against Islam is the rule of the season. That this has been the rule of the following of the Quran, no matter if perfect in the actual practice, to Reader Prashant's contention, there are no rules for Islam to surrender; only extermination of either side will produce an end. Israel has her work cut out; but the promise is that Israel wins; that is the Scriptural pronouncement for Israel to achieve peace.
