Rift in the GOP Over Import of Unvetted AfghansReader comment on item: Reflections on the Debacle in Afghanistan: Interview Submitted by Leni Valenta (United States), Sep 19, 2021 at 11:11 Although Trump initially supported the evacuation of our Afghan allies, it appears that planeloads of unvetted Afghans are being dumped at several U.S. bases, most of them not vetted and with no way to check their backgrounds. Some have arrived with child brides. A few have apparently shown up on terrorist lists. Combined with the tremendous flow of undocumented immigrants at our southern border, this is putting an enormous strain not only on our economy but our security. I am wondering if any of these immigrants are even being given material that shows how our Constitution and laws differs from Sharia law. What happens to these immigrants if they are rejected by the U.S. Are they just paroled into our system?
