Bannonism in Context: CivilizationismReader comment on item: Why I Am Not a Populist Submitted by Robert (United States), Nov 4, 2022 at 14:11 I have no dispute with this essay's analysis of Populism. It is in fact, in one word, an appeal to the mass, as far as I'm concerned. And what the perceived needs of the masses happen to be, at the time of campaigning, shifts with the historical drift. However, it appears to me that the Local rise of Civilizational parties in Europe, particularly the European Union, is also the rise on a Global level of a new phenomena dubbed "Civilizationism." Populism is not of the essence of current events in the United State; to understand Trump, is is no Ideologue, one needs to examine his most important ideological sidekick, Steve Bannon, and the rise of Bannonism. In his movement Populism is merely a means to an end. Bannon never abandoned Trump, even when he left office. And a close scrutiny of Brannon's ideology, in his writing, as well as in his association with the world-wide elite, shows me that he is a Civilizationists (in the Global sense) - a term which is no longer a neologism, as it is used by a wide range of international scholars, not merely political leads. Below is an example of one well written scholar's article: "Civilizationism vs. the Nation-State" by James Dorsey | March 26, 2019: https://lobelog.com/civilizationism-vs-the-nation-state/
