National Schizophrenia & Political ParalysisReader comment on item: Tempering Ambitions [in Iraq] Submitted by Abijah (United States), Nov 12, 2006 at 18:24 "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways, let not that man think he will receive anything...." So say the Holy Scriptures. The Bush administration has been working at cross purposes with itself during his second term in office. President Bush had in Donald Rumsfeld a seasoned warrior as Secretary of Defence. Mr. Rumsfeld doubtless made errors of judgement, but as President Lincoln said of General U.S.Grant who had his detractors also,"I can't afford to lose him, he fights." Donald Rumsfeld fights America's threats, that's why the collectivist Left Democrats hated and loathed him. The Pentagon Generals have been actively subverting Rumsfeld's prosecution of the war in Iraq. John Bolton fights. He fights for America's strategic interests in the United Nations and the Left despises him. The Secretary of State, Condolezza Rice and the State Department, have been instrumental in blocking John Bolton's Conformation as U.N.Ambassador. The State Department has partnered with the liberal media, the unofficial propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, in depicting the war as unwinnable. Aberto Fernando, a high level State Department official, has been making nice with anti-American Islamists and depricating the United States' war on Islamic terror. Bush has been betrayed by his most senior trusted aids and he has lacked the ability to bring his House under control. Again, defaulting to Holy Writ, "A House divided will not stand." The Bush House (administration), the endeavor in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the American House (nation) cannot survive divided. Lincoln fought a Bloody Civil War to keep the United States from disolving into its constituant states. More Americans died in that war than all others combined. For his efforts, President Lincoln was vilified more than any president before or after him. Bush has understood the nature and scope of the threat. Therefore, Bush fights Islamic terrorism. That is precisely why he is vilified so passionately by "friends" and enemies alike. The House of Bush is divided. The nation is divided. NOW is the point of no return. America will not have the military and economic perogatives we still have. If we do not fight to win NOW our ability to respond to attacks on our nation will be limited by those attacks. The economy will be destroyed, the military disillusioned and ill equiped. Man made plagues and lawlessness will ravage the land. We will have only ourselves to blame. Then we may sit in the dust and mourn our loss of the dream that was America, our foolishness, our fecklessness, our wickedness. It needn't be. The Bible says, "Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."(Psalm 50:15) "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13) "...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:13-14, NIV)
