IraqReader comment on item: Tempering Ambitions [in Iraq] Submitted by A. Marano (United States), Nov 12, 2006 at 22:23 We won the battle and lost the war in Iraq. We have two choices in Iraq; either we leave, and let the different fictions of Sunni, Shiite and Kurds settle their problems, most probably with a civil war; or we start taking care of this mess the right way by giving our army our full support and authority to deal with these terrorists the proper way. We made the same mistake in Vietnam. the war was fought by the media and politicions. We are not playing a war movie, this is a real war let the commanders in the field do their job. We should have started by killing all the insurgents that we keep as prisoners in Iraq instead of feeding them, and releasing them after few months to join their friends. If you want to win the war against the insurgents, and the terrorists then you should act like them, otherwise I am sorry to say it but we will lose all the wars against terrorists.
