Pulling out.Reader comment on item: Tempering Ambitions [in Iraq] Submitted by John R (United States), Nov 12, 2006 at 22:30 Pulling out and giving up our goal of establishing democracy in Iraq, etc, etc --- goals Bush declared -- will not extricate America from this Iraqi situation.. It would show a seismic crack in our military strength and influence. Our enemies and many of the American public would see weakness. They would see vulnerability. They would see dissapointment. They would see failure. This failure would overshadow our success in ousting Saddam Hussein. If we fail in Iraq, we most likely would fail in Iran. And maybe fail everywhere else if we go to war with whoever. We'd think twice before we engage in war, or we would not go to war when we really should.. That is not good. If we pull out of Iraq, which is what most Democrats want, expect to see terrorists on tv coming out and celebrating. John R.
