CBS is now the Palestine Broadcasting SystemReader comment on item: Mr. Palestine? Submitted by DrRJP (United States), Nov 27, 2007 at 09:08 I used to think that NBC was the most anti-Israel network of the Big Three, but that honor now goes to CBS thanks to a disgusting piece of yellow journalism, titled "Gaza: isolated and starving," on last night's Evening News It was bad enough to also have on the same broadcast a piece titled "Palestine on the table," about the Annapolis conference. But, the insidious Gaza report makes the phony Al-Dura incident seem like a faux pas by comparison. The premise was taken right out of Arafat's old playbook. In the past 60 years, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been squatting on Jewish land. Thanks to the Arab states unceasing efforts to prevent them from being resettled and the UN's declaration of them as permanent refugees, they and their leaders have received hundreds of billions of dollars to help them rebuild their infrastructure and to become productive individuals. The entire Gaza Strip was turned over to them so that they could begin the process of state-building. With all that money and support, one would think that their lot has improved. Yet, leave it to CBS to portray a million of them as "prisoners" inside Gaza, "trapped by Israel on one side, and the sea on the other side," living in slums and having no food to eat. Of course they blame Israel for closing its borders, which they claim was in retaliation for rocket attacks. CBS never mentioned that terrorists were using the borders to conduct attacks inside Israel. CBS never mentioned that illegal arms were being smuggled from Egypt into Gaza, and that three main border crossings into Egypt were reopened. Gaza has an immense coastline, yet despite all of the monies given to the Palestinians, not a single seaport or functioning airport exists inside it. Instead, their enlightened government, Hamas, is using its donated resources to build rockets and plan for additional attacks against Israel. Hamas has only one goal. Its raison d'etre is the destruction of Israel. It does not give a rat's rump about the "suffering of its people" because it needs to use it as an excuse to kill Jews. As long as groups like Hamas refuse to renounce terrorism and reject Israel's right to exist, Palestinians will be held hostage by them -- NOT ISRAEL -- just as Hamas has held Israelis as hostages. CBS needs to do a Dan Rather and resign, en masse, for the disreputable news agency they are.
