RESPONCE TO BARBARAReader comment on item: Mr. Palestine? Submitted by R. DAVID PA (United States), Nov 28, 2007 at 03:44 Almost there. I agree with half of what you say, maybe more. A palestinian state was created in 1947 it was carved from the Jewish homeland by Great Britain taking 3/4 of the land promised to the jewish people and it is today called the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Further, Land for peace is not the formula that works. That formula worked in the past because Egypt and Jordan were states and wanted no more regional war. (Egypt seems to be enjoying the local war in Israel however and is fueling it in part). Taking this model and believing it works for all people and all sizes after it has failed so miserably for 15 years and continuing to use it is the very definition of insanity. You advocate trusting George, I have no blind faith in anyone but the creator and my mother, george did not get elected to these positions plus the positions are occuppied by the best qualified already. I have trouble trusting George because i find myself trusting when there is truth and reliability, I worship no king. George has never had an ace up his sleeve, at best it has been a jack and he is playing cards with people who have the high cards and jokers. Fighting terrorism while rewarding it is not my idea of how to bring peace, it rather is a strategy for bringing war, the reasons are obvious for this. Each peace talk has weakened Israel and the prospects for peace. The religious belief that democracy for all people is holy is a huge misunderstanding of human motivation in the Middle East. Peace is not achievable through misunderstandings. But who knows, someone may wave his hands exclaim abra cadabra and peace will descend from high above and cover all at this very time.
