Looking Isn't Always "Seeing," FrankReader comment on item: Mr. Palestine? Submitted by orange yonason (United States), Dec 2, 2007 at 19:38 B"H "For the same 30 years you and I have been here looking at the same wheel-spinning actions in the various "Peace Process " gyrations." The only cycle is the one the terrorists are peddling, and if THEY stopped, it would all come to a complete end. On the other hand, If Israel stops defending itself, they will overrun and destroy her. "Until all the nations and terrorists in the Mid East have the change in heart needed for them to stop teaching and preaching the destruction of Israel, the Jews and the rest of the non-muslim world there will be no peace." True. Unfortuantely, your reasonong on the possibility of achieving that, as well as how to go about it, is wrong. "But I know of nothing better than to make "good faith efforts" as long as they do not weaken our position, until the change in hearts occur." In that case, you do know nothing. There will be no change in heart. There were some during WWII who thought that if only the West stopped fighting with the Nazis that everything would be OK. This is essentially the same type of enemy. Only the Islamofascists, led by the "Palestinians," are much more dangerous, because they are claiming that their god wants them to self destruct in order to destroy, maime and kill. It's a religious obligation, not a political ideology. Making concessions to them doesn't soften their hearts. It validates their warped world view and hardens their hearts, and so that will only cause the exact opposite of what we want to happen. Haven't you heard of the scam the Nazis pulled on Neville Chamberlain? If you were really watching with open eyes you would see that is true. "I takes a certain amount of optimism to contine these hopeful 'wheel-spinning' maneuvers." A comment worthy of Shimon Peres. And what's this "wheel-spinning?" Are you refereing the that proverbial "cycle of violence" nonsense? There is no such thing, only pathological killers and their victims fighting back trying to stay alive. "We need not kid ourselves about getting quick results." Yes, because until Israel has a real 'change of mind' and stops foolishly pursuing peace with barbarians, we will only get more of the same. And the only reason it has dragged on this long is because Israel imported the killers, and gave them weapons, training and autonomy in the hope that this make it unnecessary for Israel to fight them, all with the blessing, assistance and insitance of the rest of the world, mind you. But it backfired, Frank. And all this misbegotten "peace process" has succeeded in doing is ripping Israel apart, created more dead Jews and Arabs and spread ingviolence to the rest of the world. They could have nipped it in the bud, but instead they were intimidated by the world into nurturing it. More of the same will only beget more of the same. "But we must not lose hope." I've got your hope right here, Frank... It's a con game, and you and Bush and Rice and the European and Israeli leaders are all the "marks." Nevertheless, I am very hopeful, because throughout History good eventually triumphs over evil. Of course, the bad news is that if your hope is predicated on the leadership of Bush and Rice, it's resting on pretty shaky ground. That, and attitudes like yours only enable the evil, and have never contributed anything to removing it. "The Saudis and the Iranian mullas backing Hesbolah and Hamas are key players but have not figured out how to tackle them yet. At least some were persuaded to come to Annapolis." The Saudis are as much the enemy as the others. And if, as I pointed out, your faith in Bush is misplaced, how much more so that in the Saudis the Iranians and their surrogates. Also, the presence or absense of terrorists at a conference isn't a very good measure of it's "success," especially since the whole process is fatally flawed at it's core. "Meanwhile the Palestians and the Jews get all the wheel-spinning attention." Attention alone isn't sufficient. People have to understand what they are looking at. What you see as a "cycle" is just the perpetual Arab assault on civilization, with the Jews first, and the rest of the world next ("First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people") "... Let's hope and pray that this Annapolis Initiative accelerates some heart-changing in the crucial places. But it may take 25 years or more." Prayer is always an excellent idea no matter what the situation, especially when one doesn't have a clue how to proceed, and yet even more so when you are going the wrong way. "We see the same picture but have different emotions." I'm looking at it with my head, not just my heart. I find my emotions keep tripping me up if I let them run ahead and lead my thoughts. If you are evaluating this with your 'feelings' then it is no wonder you are confused. "Let's hang in there together until the required changes occur." No thanks, Frank. I'll pass on that one. If I hang at all, I would prefer it to be with those who are fighting our mutual enemies, and not with those who give them the rope and help build the gallows. The West is in a war, and it doesn't even know who it is fighting. In case you, or someone else, wants to see a little more of what this is about, here are a few good background references http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/2543 http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_mandate_grand_mufti.php http://eye-on-the-world.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html Until the West stops thinking the way you do, the war is lost.
