RESPONSE TO JENNIFERReader comment on item: Mr. Palestine? Submitted by R. DAVID PA (United States), Dec 2, 2007 at 03:38 You are there, it is delightful to see. The President has often presented ideas and acted in ways that are difficult to understand. It may be quite true that we are not priveiledge to some key ingredients in the decision making and I like to think that it is for good reason. But I believe that there is no magic or major strategies that are far away from the obvious, that is to say what is reported. To me it is obvious that the President wants to look active in his last year. It is obvious that last year Presidents concentrate on the middle east with failed results. It is also obvious to me that the President wants to gather moderate muslim nations, (whatever moderate means), to join the us in planning for a desired goal. Could this be early testing the water to see where these nations stand regarding Iran? And in spite of the rantings and ravings from Iran to include visions of Israel's destruction, is there really any evidence that Iran's leaders are so self destructive that they will take the plunge into nuclear warfare if they develope a bomb. I do not desire that they have even more power and more say than they have managed to gather, bot this question of confronting Iran has been side tracked by peace in the middle east, the iraq surge sequlae, the cost of gas, the economy in general. If things seemed confused, it is because they are, and I do not believed our elected leaders are immuned from the confusion. I wonder if Golda Meir had any daughters who are in politics?
