seattle attack summer 2006

I'm surprised you forgot the attack by a Muslim on the Greater Seattle Jewish Federation offices in downtown Seattle in late July, 2006. The attack came within days of Mel ("The Passion of the Christ") Gibson's drunken anti-Semitic diatribe against the arresting LAPD officer when the famed director/actor/serial marrier/"conservative Catholic"/adulterer/unapologetic son of a major Australian Holocaust denier- who also assured all who would listen that his Protestant then-wife would not join him in Heaven when his virtuous self died and went to his reward- was pulled over for a DUI: sample dialogue: "You Jews are the cause of all wars in the world!" The perplexed but unruffled officer was not Jewish, and nobody asked how Jews were the "cause" of, for example, the (recently-concluded, with the Sri Lankan military forces employing anti-terrorist tactics that would have made Ariel Sharon in his hawkish prime blush) Sri Lankan civil war between largely Buddhist Sinhalese and largely Hindu Tamils, but I digress.

In the Seattle attack, by one Naveed Haq, son of Pakistani emigres, half a dozen women, including one in the second trimester of pregnancy, were wounded, and one (a Protestant convert to Judaism) died. In the subsequent trial, shades of Nosair, Haq avoided conviction when the jury was hung. (Nosair, it will be recalled, was acquitted by a Jew-hating jury of mostly NYC Blacks and Hispanics, even though there were dozens of eyewitnesses when he murdered Kahane).

But, then, we all remember when that unfortunate young Australian Hasid visiting NYC was murdered in cold blood in the Crown Heights "uprising" of 1991, by Lemrick Nelson (may his name be eternally cursed), by a crowd egged on by The Right Reverend Al Sharpton and others of his ilk, and Nelson (later a Muslim convert) was acquitted as well. The then-mayor of NYC, David Dinkins, shrugged off the wholesale attacks on the Hasidic community as some youths "blowing off steam." Haq's attack occurred in the wake of the Israel-Hizbollah war of summer 2006, with all the bien pensant "humanitarian" press blaming everything on Israel, as usual. Yours sincerely, Mac Brachman
