Can you define what is Human in temporal, universal and historical terms?Reader comment on item: A History of Muslim Terrorism against Jews in the United States Submitted by Salah Ali (Norway), Jun 11, 2009 at 01:27 There are very many evasions in your statements. Your capitalized words, for instance, need not be commented on since Saddam had compared himself to Assyrian and Babylonian kings and to Muslem early warriors. His motivation clearly derives from historical and political reasons. The image of King Jeho kneeling before Shalamenser III or the victory Salahdin achieved against the Crusaders.. all link up. Your also didn't answer my explanation on Osama's education and various other points regarding the Nobel Prize as a criterion which is seen by critics as limited in temporal sense and is a Western criterion. You have also missed the fact that most of the Arab States were not independent when the Covenant of Human Rights was declared in 1948. The backwardness of these parts of the woeld is mostly due to lack of political will and the negative impact of the West. Marshal plan and the various pacts in the aftermaths of World War II were made in an effort to solidify a front against the red threat of communism not to provide technical assistance and the necessary know-how for Arab countries to stand up on its own feet and develop. moreover, neither Christianity nor Judiasm hurdled progress! Why should Islam hurdle progress? Most of the problems in Pakistan and Egypt are motivated and fueled by the West. The Western attaept at forcing regime change or democracy or even masterminding war by proxy.. all that have contributed to bottlenecking and nipping any attempt at development in their very bud. The attaempt at Mahfouz's life was not carried out by a madman who does not represent Islam. In the religion of Islam "killing a single man is tantaount to killing all human beings" You cannot judge Islam by single incident. If that is the criterion, then shall we judge Christianity by the post reformation atrocities or by the Spanish Inspection, though these were unprecedented!? It was Genghis Khan's grandson Hulagou Khan who attacked Baghdad, and my statements on these historical issues are supported by books on History written by Western authors. Also by the Russian Vladimir Minorsky. I have also read Arabic reference. Saddam was demonized as everybody knows by the West. Hatred doen't change history, though you would rather see Shylock good and Antonio is the Villian. I do not agree with most of Saddam's policies. Yet the West demonized him and it was Israel hatred that feuled all the problems in Iraq. Nice, now I realize I am talking to a Jew..This is a good harbinger of cultural dialogue. As for connecting my humanity to being in the west, do you mean that those in Israel, China and India are not human or humane?
