Avoiding Zionism: Avoiding Hatred

There are details of which my knowledge is somewhat vague. This regards the Jewish emigration from Iraq to Palestine. It was during the British administered Iraq and my father was a police officer charged by his boss of chacing Jewish merchants. it was probably the period of Tamween or lack of foodstuff. He told me the Officers were dictated to harrass the Jews (Yahood) and he told me that once he found some spices with a Jew who surrendered the amount with money and the money was then shared with the officer.

I conclude from the story that there had been an israeli or say Zionist order to fill Palestine with Jews who reluctantly left their original home in Iraq. In Mosul were I was born from a sunni family, I had my grandmother house in an avenue called (Mahalat Al-Yahood) I still remember the David Star on incised above the entrances of Jewish houses in Mawsili marble.

The Jewry in the Middle East are all remnant of the Ottoman Empire where they lived as neighbours to Moslems, Christians of all sects and Torcomen. Islam itself was tolerant as many Jewish scholars prospered in Islamdom and contributed to Islamic sciens , the Maimonides are an example. I really feel no difference, real difference between our religions, cultures and language system. But the Jews live with history more than the Arabs or at least the majority of the Arabs do! I do not believe that the USA is the big Shaitan as some fanatics like to call it. But think of the recent war and destruction of Iraq, the politics of exclusion.

I lived the worst sights of war and I have documents that testify to the USA use of Uranium in the war while they claimed Iraq to have WMD which proved to be a lie by the Americans themselves. Being hands in gloves with the Zionism doesn't make any better prospects for peace between the Arabs and Israel. I even have the feeling that those who live in Israel are not true Jews. My impression of the Jews are peaceful. I always see Shylok of the merchant of Venice as an individual case used biasly and politically to stereotype the Jews with negative association exactly as associating Islam with Terrorism and legitimate resistence with sabotage.

I am really astonished at the difference between the people of Israel who just want to live in peaceful coexistence and the hateful policies adopted by the Military government in Israel. As if these policies reflect an imperialis and inhuman programme. i cannot have the images of children slain by Israel in Gaza and really want to get those criminals inIsrael called to task and punished. We cannot blame the victim for resistance. We have to be just and justice outlined by Sadat speech in the Kneset is clear. We only need to come to reason and single out criminals among us. I wish I carry out dialogue since by dialogue we can reach or establish a meeting ground between us, that is very Islami.
