Israel will Survive anyway IF

Your article sets the record straight and such is always good to have been in the public domain. You, of course, understand more than most that settng the record straight will have no effect at all in changing the midset of those Arab/Islamist states who are determined never to accept Israel AS A JEWISH STATE. What makes this already long-standing determination most dangerous now is the mindset of the Obama Presidency towards the State of Israel. There has been a sea change of major proportions. In one year he has managed to change the political and military landscape relative to Israel. No longer can Israel rest assured that the USA will always be there for Israel. Paradoxically this terrible chage occured while a man who was a true friend of Israel was the President's Chief of Staff.

The haunting words of John Kennedy come to mind: "--a long twilight struggle." The context, of course was different. But the people Israel (in Israel and, one hopes, in the Diaspora as well) and the leaders of the Nation Israel must be steadfast. The goal of a self-consciously Jewish state of Israel accepted by the nations of the world is at least a half-century away. A steady self-confidence is required of the people Israel and especially required of the leaders -- miltary and political -- of the nation of Israel.

When compromise is called for, let there be compromise. When military force is called for let it be strong and unwavering. And, most of all, KEEP THE POWDER DRY.
