Interview by Pajamas MediaReader comment on item: Daniel Pipes: 'Israel Has No Policy' Submitted by Bryan Taplits (United States), Dec 10, 2010 at 10:23 Dr. Pipes, Thank you once again for sending me your analyses. I had never thought of the metaphor of Netanyahu putting out brush fires, but in effect, it is true. There is no overall strategy: Some battles may be won or lost-but if the battle is won by Israel (either diplomatic, political or military),it is not built upon or advanced. And if it is lost, the adversaries use it to gain ground. In other words, the ratchet goes only one way: Towards the advancement of Islamism; never in the direction of an entrenchment that favors Israel!
