Non violence is a step in right direction

Dear Dr Pipes:

You predicted that upheavals in Middle east will inspire Palestinians to protest in a nonviolent fashion. Your predictions came true at least partially when Palestinians started a non-violent march (that eventually turned violent).

No matter what any one does, if a few million Jews are surrounded by hundreds of millions of Muslims from all directions, it will indeed be difficult for the Jews to maintain their religious and cultural identity. The best what we can hope for is that future changes happen peacefully without the help of Islamic bombs/swords. So anytime muslims use non-violent methods that is a welcome sign.

In the longer run this process may evolve into an eventual Islamic enlightenment in which non-muslims can freely practice and preach their faiths in the so called Islamic lands and where some Muslims might tell other Muslims that Islam indeed needs tolerance and reform. When that happens a billion humans who are trapped in the jail of fundamentalist Islam will become free.
