Concerning Round Four

Dr Pipes' predictions seem always right, so if Dr Pipes thinks Barak Obama will reapproach the Prime Minister of Israel, no argument here. That being said, I suggest the following concern. Somewhere between Barak Obama and the State Department of the United States, something has gone very foul. When President Bill Clinton, the current Secretary of State's husband put forward his map and ideas,- proded and succeeded getting Israel to sign on, he showed what Israel thought was its closing hand. By allowing the Arafat Palestinians to walk away again, Israel's closing hand has been dropped to putting their foot in their mouth. Having been diplomatically undressed, Israel is now being told by a new warmless American President , that Abba Eban's 1967 Auschwitz lines are where talks will begin.

Respectfully, Israel's best friend owes Israel a more earned decency to begin and base any new negotiation "from" the Clinton map lines, not the 1967 lines.The no to anything Palestinians can take heart that the Clinton lines "are based " on the 1967 lines. But the beginning emphasis now, that base, should be with those who already acted boldly. Too boldly.
