Some notesReader comment on item: Obama vs Netanyahu, Round Three Submitted by Michael (Egypt), Jun 7, 2011 at 05:27 It may be encouraging to see that some Americans are still holding on to their Christian traditions and biblical teachings and are aware of the perilous situation their nation is in. But, what I'm really concerned about is these good people's actions to intercept. I'm a regular observer of the political tidings in the US, and the Christian Right in particular. And from what I'm still seeing, there are fundamental issues that those politicians need reform. First: I don't know how this has happened, but what is the Christian Right, for God sake? Do you mean to say that most of the observant and pious Christians in America nowadays have put themselves in one group, one party (the Republican Party) and have drawn a non-cross line between them and their fellow citizens? Why aren't they everywhere? Second: Some of them don't do anything positive. They howl and cry in news channels how Americans have turned away from God, and everything, and how they deserve His wrath, … etc. To the degree that in natural disasters, such as Tsunami, some of them did nothing but gloat over their brethren's misery. In one of those disasters, one pastor claimed that Haitians had made a pact with devil and that God was punishing them. This is not Christianity to me—this is hocus-pocus, and self-righteousness. Third: From what I see, tens of millions of people in America are aware of how dangerous Islam is and how their country is heading toward a fall. But all the same, they do nothing. Islam has infiltrated the White House, intelligence (Iraqi interpreters working for the CIA and National Security, etc.), and—most importantly—the streets: you can find mosques everywhere you go now, and Muslims are in millions, and increasing. Why don't you protest in millions in front of the White House, why don't you gather signatures against immigration and islamization, why don't you blow the whole UN up if the reason is in there, I don't know. This may sound radical, but it's not. You see, most Westerners have been brainwashed that they don't recognize the simple facts at hand, and they try to find another explanation for the truth, philosophize, and deny their heritage. Since its rise in the 7th century, Islam has been the most prominent and lethal enemy to humanity so far. It swept across North Africa, Asia, and southern Europe within a few centuries. Sharia was the norm for most of the last 1400 years, on a global scale. Sharia is not new. Your forefathers and ancestors recognized the danger, liberated Spain and led Crusades against Islam. But dissent soon ensued, and the great Christians ended up planning conspiracies against each other and shook hands with Muslims. And look where we are now. My country fell to Muslims in 639. They forced their religion and tax (al jezya) and my fellow citizens sold their children to pay the tax and preserve their faith. But most of them eventually gave up, and their grand grand children are now Muslims. No one came to save them, and the simple occupation they thought would simply die away, or wear off, or end soon, lasted 1400 years. Forever, for the new generations knew nothing of the past and continued as Muslims. My country died in 639, and its civilization perished. The terror you took a glimpse at on 9/11 we've been living in for 14 centuries. It's a blessing that you were born free in the free part of the world Islam couldn't conquer and bring to ruins. Islam has been trying to gain access to the West for centuries. It occupied Spain, southern Italy and France, Cyprus, Greece; and thank goodness Europeans kicked it out soon enough. Now you have opened your gates willingly to it. Instead of war, now Islam is conquering through immigration and proselytizing. Islam is working from the inside. Europe is compromised now and is infected seemingly irrevocably with Islam. They have much higher birth rates, they send for their brethren in Islamic countries to immigrate and marry their daughters, they are determined and resilient, they convert people, most probably they will prevail within 100-150 years and Sharia will rule and the great Europeans will end up Dhimmis just like us. But America is a different story. Your Muslim percentage is less than 1%. You are more religious than Europeans. You have been struck on 9/11. You are the strongest country in the world. You are our only hope to defeat Islam. So, why don't you? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
