Some Further NotesReader comment on item: Obama vs Netanyahu, Round Three Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jun 8, 2011 at 19:28 It would take more than just a few notes to provide some discernment that could make any certain sense of the circumstances the world finds itself in, and how the 'interventionist mentality' of the American State Department does not seem to function for the want of a consistent rationale. Many are wondering over here about the very things you have observed. As to your first supposition, that of a Christian right; one needs to understand the that over the time of the American democratic experiment, mainstream American Christianity has been dissected by religious upheaval and continued denominational splits such that there are 'democratic' Christians, republican Christians, all in attendance in their religious observances of varying character, to the final observation that Christianity in America is not as homogenous as one might think. Many will say that 'conservative' Christianity is what makes up the Christian Right, but even in that, there are still subsets that will argue debating points but not agree on basic ones. In your second observation, you make a fine point; that of all the aspects of waning Christianity that gets believers in Jesus Christ in the most trouble is hypocrisy. Jesus Christ had His harshest words for the 'pharisaical' attitudes of the religious elite, something that is as true today as it ever was. It is part of the greatest need for repentance that America faces, yet none of the religious leadership has gotten the point. Your third observation is the one with the most potent incrimination of the 'Christian' west; that if the Christian community does not recognize its need for repentance, it will be left open in susceptive deception that was the 'disease' of the early church, allowing heresies to rule the day and make room for the uprising of Islam. In very fact, the Holy Bible speaks to the very issue that we are in the time when deception in Christianity is now the rule; and 'moderation' and 'toleration' in violation of the Holy Writ are the replacement rule. Functioning in Biblical circumspection is a waning description of a smaller and smaller composite of the American Christian population. We'll not recount the entirety of your Middle Eastern history, Egypt being and still is a centerpiece of Biblical prophecy. In your history, there is the macro and micro of the history of Christianity; and of the relationship between humanity (Christian and otherwise) and Israel. For this believing disciple of Yeshua HaMashiach, we are in those times spoken of by our Savior. In His WORD, there is no mention of America coming in to save the world; and more importantly, Christianity does not physically save the world either. Only HaMashiach, Christ saves. When that time comes, true dhimmis are those that are not a part of the 'harpazo, ' the removal of the true believing body of Christ (the True Church), left behind to deal with Islam because they did not have the real faith necessary. Shari'a and the remaining faux-Christian church will be immersed in a revival of the crusades, but remember the fate of 'Babylon,' the final form of a church in the world. The Revelation pretty well takes on that issue, and I'll have to break there. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
