Just a few commentsReader comment on item: Disappearing Christians in the Middle East Submitted by Alexandros (United Kingdom), Dec 24, 2012 at 14:40 First of all, In Turkey the Christian population (Greeks and Armenians combined) until 1917 was more than 2 million people according to the Ottoman census which means more than 20 percent, until 1922 only the Istanbul and Imbros and Tenedos Christians remained and after the pogroms of 1955 only 3000 have remained. The current Christian population in Turkey is much less than 1% and not only that, but the Turkish government has not shown any sign to allow to these people (the ones chased in 1955) to return to their homes even if they want to buy back their previous and currently stolen estates. If the United States government actually cares about the Christians that are being, without any doubt, chased from their homelands, why are they actively supporting by all means, those who chase the Christians? Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year, to you and your families whatever your religion is! Let's hope the New Year to bring a little wisdom to those who govern us as well, because they have taken wrong paths! Cheers!
