Dear Prashant,

You accuse Debanjan Banerjee of being ignorant. But as a matter of fact, it is you who is ignorant. You seem to be quite obsessed about 98% population of muslims as if every muslim country has 98% muslim population.

Please read the following to get a glimpse of the tolerance of muslims and nice treatment of minorities in Islamic countries:

Sachin Kelkar, who works in a publishing firm in Oman and is an active member of the Indian Social Club, speaks with a smile about how the Ganapathi festival was celebrated last year -- in full form, with a special puja and a host of cultural celebrations in the Krishna Temple complex.

Kelkar suggests that the leniency towards Hindus in Oman is largely due to the Khimjis -- a powerful business family that has great say in the various ministries of the country. Also, Oman's current ruler, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, is openly appreciative of the Indians' contribution to his country's growth and he has personally granted support to the two temples in the country. Jayant Vyas, the second priest at the Krishna Temple, Muscat, is all praise for the Sultan: "During the Babri Masjid riots in India, the Sultan personally ordered his guard to protect the temple. He told us not to fear any attacks and to continue with our pujas."

This is not unusual for muslims since Islam teaches muslims tolerance towards other faiths.

And before you accuse me of surfing Islamic propaganda sites, let me remind you that this information is available on the following site, which is not Islamic by any stretch of imagination:

I even know what your next response would be. Now you would point to the so-called atrocities committed by muslims. But that is an old story and every one knows how much truth is there in such stories.

So please open your eyes and stop looking at Islam with negativity and come back to the fold of Islam.
