Dear Mr. PrashantReader comment on item: Disappearing Christians in the Middle East Submitted by Debanjan Banerjee (India), Jan 3, 2013 at 10:00 Dear Mr. Prashant, I just want to make that in the countries you talk about , the disappearance in the minorities I believe have had everything to do with the imposition of Western-backed ideologies. In the Western culture the minority is considered as alien and treated accordingly. As I have mentioned before the West Asia was a nicer place to be for the Jews than some place in the West during medieval times. It was the Western secular ideas like Pan-Arabism and Pan-Turkism which destroyed the nice tolerance that minorities used to enjoy. Let us talk about country by country. You talk about Bangladesh and Pakistan. Pakistan was a creation of the British and in particular 3 Britain-trained lawyers (Jinnah , Gandhi and Nehru) encouraged away by a British governor-general. And talking about Bangladesh , I guess Bangladesh is ruled by a secular , pro-Western leadership. You talk about Syria , Iraq. You need to give the credit to your host country for destroying millennium old Christian communities in these two countries. It was Mr. Bush's plan all along to secure the region by destroying any strong , independent Arab nation in the region and that is why he attacked and destroyed these two countries. Before the US invasion Iraq had a Christian vice president and now ?? Thanks to a bible-thumping Christian , an ancient Christian community is destroyed. You talk about Jordan and Saudi Arabia and Egypt. All these countries are well within the sphere of US influence and I blame the Western-backed satrapies there for the plight of the minorities in these countries. You know there is only one country in the West Asia which is a democracy , an independent and free nation and having flourishing Jewish minority community. That is Iran and you know that is the country the US is willing to destroy now. Now can we please talk about violations of minority rights in the West ? If you happen to be a black or hispanic chances are that there is two times more chance of you getting shot by police than you to be a white man. You know what ? Only three days back a Bengali with a HIndu name was killed in a NY train for simply looking like a Muslim. The US amongst all the countries in the World has got a flourishing prisoner industry and that is the country which houses most number of prisoners in the World and still likes to call itself as a free nation. There is a proverb which says doctor heal thyself. You live in the country of Adam Lanza and you have the audacity to call others as violators of human rights !!!! Some hypocrisy this is. Take care Debanjan
