Liberal La-la LandReader comment on item: What Is the Future of Conservatism in the Wake of the 2012 Election? Submitted by Will (United Kingdom), Jan 6, 2013 at 17:40 I got a chuckle out of Gunther Schiff's statement: "They [Conservatives] continually demonize the liberals, instead of a careful analysis of what the liberal sides support, that is wrong; and why." Demonizing, vilifying, name calling, and ad hominem arguments are the stock in trade of Liberals, not Conservatives (although Conservatives are now realizing there is no point in conducting considered, fact-based discussions with Liberals because they never capitulate to the facts of history or the present. They just turn nasty when facts confuse them.) I do, however, agree with you that "the present GOP conservative philosophy seems to be retrograde to some unknown place in the past, rather than conservative." Indeed: it is moving leftward. This is disastrous; but no-one who is right of center can get elected now because the liberals have hijacked the media and the "education" system and have created so much government dependency. But I really had a belly laugh at your statement that "most governments of 'advanced' nations have used the same 'one provider' system" because by "advanced nations" you mean the failed, socialist Euro-peon states. You also wrote: "Obama care may not be the answer, but to remove it without a responsible alternative is not viable politics." I suppose that's true, if by "viable politics" you mean electability. But repealing Obamacare would be a very, very responsible alternative. And I also had to chuckle at a representative of the hate-filled, vilifying Left childishly accusing Conservatives of "hating the sitting president." Socialism has always and everywhere made the rich poor and the poor poorer. Sotero (Obama) and his socialist sheeple are leading us into poverty and, eventually, some kind of dictatorship. The Left has historically been the enemy of freedom, morality and integrity. That's what we hate. Like Islamofascism, it is impossible for many of us not to see the Left as a dangerous enemy of humankind.
