"Who can we trust, in the end? Who is telling us the truth?" - Two most fundamental questionsReader comment on item: Innocents Abroad Build Foreign Armies Submitted by Ianus (Poland), Feb 16, 2013 at 05:08 Dear Mark Werfel , A protracted debate might evolve between us on the points you've made. But without willing to start it here, let me just comment on the two fundamental questions you ask at the very end of your thought-provoking post. > Who can we trust, in the end? Who is telling us the truth?< Do you trust your own Government? Do you believe it really represents and promotes the interests of people like you, your family and -say- those who perished on 11.09.2001 and afterwards, their relatives and friends ? Do you think this government is telling you and your countrymen the truth about its international and domestic policy, its real agenda and its real beneficiaries? If you answer to these questions is "Yes",then probably there is no point in starting any debate here. I and most Americans I know (true , not so many in absolute numbers) don't think so and say that the evidence on behalf of treating your government as a bunch of cheating , corrupt, professional liars and careerists serving foreign and not American (let alone humanity's !) interests is overwhelming. Can people who get elected by receiving millions of dollars from various dubious sources have any credibility ? Do you really want to defend them and identify with their official stories behind which you will see them serving their foreign and local paymasters and harming the American people ?
